  • Aquacure: A chemical treatment used to neutralize and reverse the ravages that may be caused by salt water contamination

  • B&S: Brush and Spray

  • C&R: Clean and re-dope of threads

  • EMI: Electromagnetic Inspection

  • ERW: Electric Resistance Welded pipe

  • FLD: Full-Length Drift

  • FLUT/FBUT/PAUT: Full-Length, Full-Body, or Phased Array Ultrasonic Testing

  • ID: Inner diameter of a tubular

  • NORM: Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material

  • NDT: Nondestructive test

  • OCTG: Oil Country Tubular Goods

  • OD: Outer diameter of a tubular

  • Prime Pipe: Tubular that has been inspected and no discontinuities were found

  • Prove-Up: Process of validating all potential discontinuities identified by automated inspection machines

  • Reject: Tubular that was found to have a discontinuity during inspection and was proved-up to be classified as a reject per API or customer specifications

  • Silver Nitrate Test: Process where silver nitrate is applied to the tubular to verify if it has been exposed to salt water contamination

  • SEA: Special End Area inspection

  • TG: Thread Gauge Inspection

  • VCC: Visual Condition Check

  • VTI: Visual Thread Inspection
